Environmental Justice Initiatives

I view environmental justice through the lens of systemic change, advocating for the inclusion and leadership of Black and Indigenous Peoples in environmental science and policymaking at all scales of government. Environmental justice means addressing climate change, food sovereignty, and energy justice with an understanding that environmental issues are deeply intertwined with social, economic, and racial injustices. I am guided to work on environmental justice issues through my commitment to leveraging scientific research and policy advocacy to empower and uplift marginalized communities, ensuring their untapped knowledge and needs are central in the fight against environmental degradation.
